This website allows us to collaborate with over 70 JETs, dispersed globally, and who routinely deploy into harm’s way. The JET’s ability to quickly access important reference material and share information with each other has greatly assisted the warfighter on the ground. Screen Shot 2015-08-17 at 10.29.05 AM.png1. Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want as a dinner guest?

Chris Farley – I love to laugh and I know he'd get the job done. He left the world way too early and it would be amazing to see his infectious personality in person.

2. When did you last sing to yourself? To someone else?

Last Thursday. I'm a huge Cleveland Browns fan and they had their first pre-season game Thursday, which is when I was obnoxiously singing the national anthem aloud to my husband.

3. For what in your life do you feel most grateful?

My husband, Zach.

4. If you weren't in tech, what would you be doing?

I would love start my own [small] business, a bakery. I love to bake at home, but I have no one to eat the mass amounts of baked goods when I'm done.

5. What tip would you give to those who want to join the tech field?

Don't be intimidated – technology is ever-changing, therefore, people are constantly learning and re-learning how to interact with it. Many people may feel intimidated by the tech field due to lack of technical knowledge, but the tech field is more encompassing than lines of code or millions of acronyms. The tech field is about making technology work for business, strategy, and above all FUN.

"Take 5 Tuesdays" is Tall Oak's new Q&A series highlighting Tall Oak's team members. We invite you to "Take 5" and learn what makes our tech team tick, on and off-the-clock.

Meet Matt Dusoe, our resident Senior SharePoint developer, a cappella champion, and lobster whisperer.

Prior to joining TOSI, Matt was a Senior SharePoint Developer for multiple Department of Defense contracting organizations in support of the United States Marine Corps. He served as a technical liaison with multiple divisions in order to align their business processes with capabilities within SharePoint. Matt has over 8 years of IT experience. 6 of those years came from his time as an Active Duty Marine. During his time, he worked on satellite network communications, server administration, software development, and has spent extensive time working with application development within SharePoint. His application development skills within SharePoint include CSR and .NET development. Matt has completed his Associates degree and is working on his BS in Computer Science from the University of Phoenix.

Matt 2 resized.jpg1. What is your favorite part of the job?

I enjoy the challenge of finding solutions for things that don't currently exist. While the products we support have an extensive toolbox of functionality, sometimes we need a little more. Finding the answers to unanswered problems is what I enjoy about to do. Even though it can be frustrating and often times aggravating, building the answer is very fulfilling.

2. For what in your life do you feel most grateful?

I have the best wife and I will argue anyone on that point. Through the long nights of work and school work, my wife is supportive through all of it. Single handedly she keeps the house functional, is an amazing mother to our two wonderful children, and supports me in all the challenges I take on in my life. Without sounding corny, she is truly the only reason that I have been as successful as I have been. Allowing me to dedicate my life to furthering myself to support our family, has been something that she consistently works to provide that opportunity.

3. Why Tall Oak Services?

Tall Oak has an outstanding team that really is second to none. We provide a clear and concise direction with expertise in each field as it pertains to many Microsoft platforms. While many of us can answer many questions that arise, each of us are experts in one specific thing and thats what makes us so unique. There isn't one person that handles the brunt of the workload because they have all the answers. It is a collaborative effort to provide our customers with the best solutions with each of us bringing our respective experience to the table.

4. List three fun facts about Matt:

  1. I was the student director in my high school's pep band.
  2. I know how to put a lobster to sleep and balance it on its head. It is kind of a must if you lived or grew up in Maine.
  3. When I was 6 years old, my dad sat me down in front of an Apple 2e with a screw driver and told me to go to town. THAT is what kickstarted my fascination with IT.

5. What tip would you give to those who want to join the tech field?

Find your niche. While it has holds a lot of merit to be a jack of all trades, it only means that there are plenty of people out there that are better then you at everything. It is always good to have something that you have mastered and just dabble in the rest to get a clear understanding of the whole picture. The advice would be to not try and master everything but find the one thing you and enjoy and master that.

"Take 5 Tuesdays" is Tall Oak's new Q&A series highlighting Tall Oak's team members. We invite you to "Take 5" and learn what makes our tech team tick, on and off-the-clock.
Meet Brandon James, our newest Senior SharePoint developer!

Brandon started his career in IT 8 years ago as a technical support technician for a small ISP in St. Louis, MO. He was first introduced to SharePoint 6 years ago, when he took a role as a SharePoint Administrator in Fenton, MO. While working as a SharePoint Administrator, he started dabbling in SharePoint development and quickly became hooked to the challenges of coding and creating solutions to common business problems. Brandon has since developed a knack for more front-end, client-side development technologies, specifically jQuery and Angular JS. Prior to joining Tall Oak, Brandon was a SharePoint developer for a major bank in Charlotte, NC.

Brandon.jpg1. Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want as a dinner guest?

I would like to sit down with myself 10 years ago and show him not to stress so much about life, because you end up doing quite well.

2. What is the greatest accomplishment of your life?

Learning guitar from my dad and using that ability to teach others the same.

3. What is your most treasured memory?

My most treasured memory is watching my beautiful wife, in her wedding dress, walk through the doorway of our old church.

4. What's your life motto?

Enjoy life as it is, not as you wish it were.

5. If you weren't in tech, what would you be doing?

I would be traveling the world with my wife who, by the way, is an awesome singer, teaching others how to worship God and spending time helping others.

Take 5 Tuesday - Brandon James. Meet Brandon, our newest SharePoint developer!
